• 2. The Percussion Family is huge!! It includes any instruments that produces sounds when it is struck , scraped or shaken. A percussionist in an orchestra may play as many as a dozen different instruments, since different pieces of music need different kinds of percussion. We want to describe three instruments: drums, xylophone and triangle. PERCUSSION FAMILY

The third is the crash cymbal. Drummers play the cymbals with a drumstick or a beater, or, if they want to make a softer sound, with wire brushes.

DRUMS

 • 5.

The xylophone is a musical instrument in the percussion family which probably originated independently in Africa and Asia. The xylophone has wooden or synthetic bars arranged like a piano keyboard .The ringing notes of xylophone make it a colourful addition to the percussion section of an orchestra.

The parts of the xylophone are:

Bars, stand and resonators.

The xylophone stand on frame holds in both the bars and the resonators. The stand has wheels, so you can move it around easily.

XYLOPHONE
